Launch: Interact with Unbridged Replies & Mentions
Last year, we launched a feature for Bridgy Fed that sent a DM of an hourly digest of interactions that we couldn't bridge back to your native platform. While that gave you visibility into interactions you normally wouldn't have, you still had to have an account in the other ecosystem to reply or repost them.
Today, we're rolling out the ability to interact with unbridged replies and mentions using Bridgy Fed.
This functionality extends Notifications Over DMs, where we send you an hourly digest of unbridged interactions. This feature will appear next to each interaction link with a "respond" link.

When you click the respond link, it takes you to the Bridgy Fed website and you'll see the original interaction embedded (we're using Iframely for embeds) on the page with some options to interact back.

On this page, you have one of four options: like, repost, block, or reply. If you do any of the above, Bridgy Fed will send those interactions to the other side of the bridge. Likes, reposts, and replies will only appear in the other ecosystem to preserve the privacy of the unbridged user.
And it's that simple! Now, not only will you have visibility on who's interacting with you on the other side of the bridge, you'll actually be able to acknowledge them without having to log into a completely separate account.
This is something that almost every Bridgy Fed user has asked us for, so we're really excited to finally roll this out. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
